FAQs
Where are you based?
I am currently based in Bournemouth, UK. I am working in my own private studio ‘Luna and Sol’.
How do I make an appointment?
Please send an email with subject “BOOKING FORM” to ulaluart@gmail.com and follow the instructions in the automated response.
Do you have any flash or pre-drawn designs I can choose from?
Yes - I always have a selection of designs to choose from. All of my pre-drawn ideas are one-offs and are tattooed only once.
Do you use colour ink?
No, I only use black ink in my tattooing and don’t make any exceptions.
Do you charge per hour or per piece?
I work on a project-by-project basis and charge per piece. The final cost of the tattoo depends on different variables, including the level of detail in the tattoo, the size, style and the placement of each tattoo, which also all determine how long it will take to do. I will give you a quote when you make a booking enquiry.
What kind of inks do you use/are they vegan friendly?
I use only vegan inks and products. I also try to find products that are organic, sustainable and eco-friendly where possible.
How can I prepare for my appointment and what can I expect on the day?
I would recommend you stay hydrated, eat well, and try to get a good nights sleep the night before your tattoo. Please avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before getting a tattoo - being tattooed whilst you're hungover will hurt more, will bleed more, and it won't heal as well afterwards. You are welcome to bring snacks, water/juice etc, headphones, a book, a blanket, etc, if it will help make you feel more comfortable. You are also welcome to bring one friend with you to your appointment (but if the studio is busy please note it may not be possible for your friend to sit with you whilst you get your tattoo). You do not need to arrive early to your appointment, but please be on time! The studio accepts cash payments only so please bring the correct amount with you on the day. If you are unsure about how to look after your new tattoo whilst it heals, please just ask me and I can provide you with aftercare instructions and I also sell beautiful natural and organic aftercare products from a brand Ink of Coco.
I'm booked in with you but I can no longer make my appointment - can I reschedule?
Of course! I understand sometimes things happen and situations change, so please just let me know if you would like to reschedule. If you contact me to reschedule your appointment with at least 48 hours notice, your deposit will roll over to secure your new appointment (however if you need to reschedule a second time I will require a new deposit). If you contact me to reschedule your appointment with less than 48 hours notice, you will loose your deposit, and I will require a new one to secure your next appointment.
I'm booked in with you for a custom piece - can I see pictures of what you've drawn up before the appointment?
No, I'm sorry. I will have the design ready for when you come in; I do not send out images of the design beforehand, but rest assured on the day I always allow dedicated time at the beginning of our appointment for us to go over it together. I find this a lot more fruitful and definitely a lot faster than going back and forth via email. On the day of your tattoo appointment, we will have time to make small changes to the design and adjust the size so it fits you perfectly, and incorporate some freehand if we need to. I am very happy to spend time making sure it is right for you before we begin tattooing, and I find this part of the tattoo process - working together on the design in person - is a very important and holistic way to begin the session.
I really like this tattoo/drawing, can you do it for me?
I never copy anything and only tattoo my own designs. Please do not ask me to copy another tattooist and instead go to them directly. However, I am happy to interpret an existing work of art if I think it will suit my style, so if you’ve seen something you like just let me know, and I can use it as a starting point from which I can draw something unique for you.
